Now you see me, now you don't!
Here's a lightning fast counter to the hip-bump sweep that gives you an easy back take.
Well, our VIP Preview time together has come to an end.
For each of these techniques, we've been looking why each technique works, so we can adapt to any situation.
And to do this, we've looked at which questions to ask to explore Jiu-Jitsu deeply, so your understanding multiplies every time you train.
For the technique in today's video, there's a lot going on.
But one great thing to notice is how effective this technique teaches timing.
Because there is a specific time to to meet their hip bump sweep with your counter.
And in order to get the timing right, you've got to improve your ability to read the situation too, and anticipate what your opponent is intending to do.
So if you were to take those two principles...
1) What is the right time to move to make this technique effective, and why?
And 2) How can I tell what my opponent is intending to do, what are the signals I'm looking for, that let me know his or her intention?
And if you were to apply those questions to any technique you were working on...
How quickly do you think you would learn something new, or deepen your understanding?
How often do you think you could to this while you train?
Is there any type of training schedule you can imagine where asking yourself questions like this wouldn't fit into?
Even just once or twice a day adds up over time.
And the amazing thing is, improving your Jiu-Jitsu 1% each day is really all you need to reach the highest levels of skill over time.
But when you focus on these principles that apply everywhere, you have the potential to make huge leaps in your improvement, because the patterns you're noticing can be applied everywhere.
Meaning increasing your understanding of timing 1% may have a practical value of much more than 1% improvement to your total game, because timing is essential to everything you do.
Well, I hope you've enjoyed these previews as much as I enjoyed putting them together for you.
