The most important thing about how I teach the open guard is how simple it is. You only need to get the hang of a few different concepts and maybe a few sweeps and grip breaks to completely devastate and frustrate your opponent, and for the most part, you don't even really need your hands. When you start to get this, you'll see how they just become increasingly confused and discouraged because nothing they do is working.
